Double-kudos to the volunteers who helped. Who gooed the beaches, killed the crabs and cost tourist operators money and good will? There was plenty of speculation and rumours; one was that pirates or a rogue crew had scuttled an oil-smuggling tramp. Director Anond Snidvongs na Ayudhya of the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency doesn't listen to rumours. He asked Theos, the Thailand Earth observation satellite, to help, and Theos spat out photos pointing Lhe finger at fishing boats dumping oil and garbage around the mouths of the Mae Kiong and Tha Chine rivers, with prevailing winds doing the rest. So expect more goo, Hua Hin
