At Rati Lanna, Chiangmai / Assoc. Dr. Weerapong Pairsuwan , Permanent Secretary or MOST presided the participatory meeting for Needs in using Radio Frequency (RF) as Pesticide under the main them “Sustainable Economic Development Using STI” in order to increase productivity, quality and competitiveness of Thai rice. This will promote confidence for private sectors to utilize Thai technology more efficiently and to increase their competitiveness associated with innovative technology.

At Chiangmai, Ministry of Science and Technology has proclaimed the plan to construct Northern Science Park Complex at Doi Kham Campus, Chiangmai University in order to promote private sectors to do R & D and utilize resources and infrastructure of education, industry and community for commercial purpose and link with local economy under sustainable manner. This science park is an important infrastructure to develop the country and to support stronger STI knowledge base.

Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology summarized 12 month plan work that concerning competiveness measures, MOST has pushed Food Innopolis project to promote Thailand as the center hub for food related research and development. This research complex will attract world leading food producing enterprises to invest in food innovation in Thailand and promote Thai entrepreneurs to join in world food production chain. This project will commence service from early 2016. The other project is SME innovation coupon for AEC.  This project will support 340 SMEs to bring its research products to be pilot in commercial models  and support a network of 500 innovation service units using 515 million baht. This project will stimulate additional investment value of more than 500 million baht and it will increase more than 1,000 employments which brings about cash flow for more than 2,550 million baht. This is the first joint collaboration project between MOST and Federations of Thai Industry and Board of Trade of Thailand in order to directly connect and extend to private sectors.

On 23 December 2015, Dr. Pichet Duringkaveroj, Ministry of Science and Technology made press release and presided the ceremony to submit alcohol detector SAM-05 to the police. This event was co-organized between NECTEC under NSTDA and Bangkok Bank (Public) entitled “Return happiness to people using STI”. The 30 sets of alcohol detector were provided to police stations to utilize during the New Year festival in “Don’t Drive Drunk” campaign. Bangkok Bank is the sponsor in purchasing alcohol detectors from the company with license granted by NECTEC. This project is not only aimed at providing safety to the traffic but also promoted Thai innovation products.

Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology proclaimed annual work summary following RTG proactive policies. Ministry of Science and Technology would like to see leading industrial sectors, SME and OTOP entrepreneurs as well as Startups being stronger with high capacity associated with technological supports from MOST. At present, MOST has started a mega project of Food Innopolis  to be center of food R & D and innovations. The projects will be opened in 2016. Another project is innovation coupon for SME development in the AEC which is aimed at supporting Thai SMEs to utilize research to produce commercial innovation and promote innovation service network. 9 December 2015  -  at Hongsong School, Mae Hong Son Province, Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj,  Minister of Science and Technology and Mr. Veerasak Sutanthaviboon, Deputy Executive Director, Bangkok Bank (Public Organization)  visited Bua Luang for MuEye Peoject which MOST by NECTEC has been supported by Bangkok Bank to develop gadgets and MuEye lens and arranged photo contest entitled “Observation of Micro Life via MuEye : Aquatic Creatures”. Later, 200 MuEye sets will be submitted to schools in Mae Hong Son province.

Ministry or Science and Technology, in collaboration with German Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and Ministry of Public Health  has arranged the international workshop on Quality Infrastructure for Innovative and Competitive AEC to be held from 14-15 December 2015 at Renaissance Hotel, Rachaprasong, Bangkok and National Institute of Metrology  and Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research

This project is aimed at increasing value for Thai industries to 15 percent.

King on the auspicious occasion of 88th birthday anniversary. He also led this team in taking an oath of allegiance to be good civil servants and convey their gratitude on National Father Day 5th December at 1st floor Hall, Office of the Permanent Secretary, MOST.
