The Anti-Corruption Center, Ministry of Science and Technology, organized the workshop to strengthen knowledge and understanding of the personnel, who operates the duty on finance and procurement, on the topic “Guidelines for issuing expenses for official travel and organizing training course or seminars”. The workshop was honored by Ms. Pusadeeporn Yooyongsin, finance officer (professional level), the Comptroller General’s Department, as the keynote speaker of the topic. This workshop aims to strengthen knowledge and understanding of Regulations and laws used in operation, that must conforms to the policy of the state, for officials of Finance and Procurement Section and operator related to issuing expenses for official travel and organizing training course or seminars. This will serve as an operating guide for issuing expenses for official travel and organizing training course or seminars. The workshop was held on 16-17 January 2016 at Masi Camp Resort, Muaklek District, Saraburi Province.

Ministry of Science and Technology has launched a training program “Science, Technology and Innovation Leadership Program : STIL” for Executive Class 1. The program is organized by the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) under the ministry Science and Technology, aiming for raising knowledge of executives and Deputy Governor, who also works as Provincial Chief Science Officer: PCSO, as well as supporting them to understand the science and technology systematically and visionary, and to understand the strategic for development of the country using science and technology in term of integration. Mr. Somchai Tiamboonprasert, Deputy Secretary of Science and Technology, presided over the open ceremony of this training program on January 21, 2016, at the Century Park Hotel, Bangkok.

On 20 January 2016, at National Innovation Agency / Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology, launched the campaign "Science coupons for OTOP" to promote OTOP products all around the country, using Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). The campaign conforms to the measures OTOP 2.0 in six areas: improving the quality of raw materials, production process, innovative product design, standard, packaging and machinery. It covers all OTOP segments including OTOP startup group, current OTOP group and OTOP who want to step up to be SMEs. This campaign will start operations in this January 2016.

On January 18, 2016 - Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology (MOST) presided over and gave a speech on the occasion of open ceremony for the seminar “Metrology Arena in Thailand (MAT 2016)” on the topic "Technologies and Metrology Standards for Quality Infrastructure. (QI). The seminar was jointly organized by National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) and relevant departments under the supervision of the Ministry of Science and Technology, including National Institute of Metrology, Thailand (NIMT), Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) and the Department of Science Service (DSS). The seminar was held during 18-19 January 2016, at crystal room 2-4, Century Park Hotel, Bangkok.

Today (January 9, 2016) at 9:30 pm, at the Thai Khu Fah building and the lawn in front of the building, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, presided over the opening ceremony of the National Children’s day 2016 and watched the performance of children and youth. Besides, Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj (Minister of Science and Technology), along with the Cabinet and officials of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government agencies and private sector also attended the opening ceremony of the National Children's Day 2016 and organized the exhibition, activities and games for children.
