  3. 3.To support for searching the alternative water resources location

Dr.Pichet says that MOST provides package to solve drought problems, ready to help agriculturalists instantly. It consists of water resources information system by Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute to apply information technology to collect information on water resources in the same system and to provide services via www.thaiwater.net in order that the agencies concerned has information for making decision for water resources management and the public can follow and update the situation.

While Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency(GISDA) arranges NGIS Map Portal(National Geo-Information Infrastructure System Portal) to follow up drought areas by satellite photographic technology, to analyze and to examine drought situation covering the whole country. This map system is information to identify the important areas for ground water drilling and also to support the agriculturalists to make decision for selecting crop planting by ”Integrated system: NGIS Map Portal” services according to Prime Minister’s assignment.

National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) by National Nanotechnology Center cooperates with Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute to develop brackish water filtration into drinking water by nanotechnology filter: SOS t1(System of salinity) to solve sea water invading the main rivers which affect the agricultural areas and water supply production system.  As Thailand Institute for Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) achieves of R&D on Ultra Filtration and sea water filtration into fresh water by Reverse Osmosis and provides experimental services for drinking water filtration and turbidity of filter according to industrial standard.
