12th Thailand Life Sciences Business Forum “Plant made Vaccine: from R&D to Business Opportunities”

7Dr.Kenji Sekikawa, President of the Preventec, Inc. presented at the 12th Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences Business Forum, on the topic of “Plant Made Vaccines: from R&D to Business Opportunities” on December 20, 2014.

He came to Bangkok to seek for alliance companies and strategic partners who are interested in developing cytokine medicines for oral administration and antibody medicines which can modulate intestinal immune systems. Recently, his company, Preventec, Inc., succeeded in purification and production of functional human interleukin-10 from GM rice seed. We started for providing it for a market as immunological reagents. This is the first commercially available recombinant cytokine which is produced in plant seed.

 

This forum had welcomed 30 participants from prospective companies who looked for new partnership, government sector, regulators and interested researchers.
